Parent Volunteer Meeting || Reunión para Padres Voluntarios

PSE has 356 registered volunteers so far, and counting! If you're interested to learn more about volunteer opportunities, PSE's parent volunteer liaison, Ms. Minga, is hosting a Parent Volunteer Meeting on Tuesday, August 25th at 8:15AM in the PSE Library.

PTA VOTES.

Make sure your voter registration is up-to-date.

If you or your older children need to register or update their address, here is how (you can also visit your local library). Applications must be RECEIVED by 10/5/26 to be able to vote in the November elections in Texas.

State Legislature.

The Local Government Committee (has two legislators that represent SBISD - Sen. Cook and Sen. Bettancourt) will have a hearing on September 1. There will be three topics: (1) the impact of the homestead exemption; (2) collection of government fees; (3) how county appraisal districts are funded and oversight.

If you have feedback about those issues, here is an ask from Sen. Molly Cook in her recent newsletter: “If you’ve received a property tax bill, an increase in rent, your appraisal, or a local fee that you feel this Committee needs to hear, please let our office know. Public testimony will also be open at the hearing, and your experiences in our District will shape the questions I’ll ask and the answers I’ll look for.” Her contact is molly.cook@senate.texas.gov.

In order to volunteer on an SBISD campus, you must be registered with SBISD and pass a background check. Registrations are now open for the 2026-2027 school year and take up to two weeks to approve.

Car Rider Line - Door Squad

Mornings are much smoother with volunteers helping in the car rider line! Volunteers are needed to assist opening car doors for our kiddos and directing them to the front entrance. Help as often as you can!

Dads of Great Students - WATCH D.O.G.S

Our WATCH D.O.G.S. program brings positive male role models onto our campus to support student safety, strengthen our school community, and make a lasting impact on our Explorers.

Fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and father figures are invited to volunteer for a day at PSE, where you may help with arrival and dismissal, support teachers, assist with lunch and recess, or simply be a positive presence around campus.

Save the Date for our Kick-Off Event on September 15th.
