PSE Open House is officially rescheduled for next Tuesday, September 15th from 3:30-5:00PM, which will be followed by the Watch D.O.G.S. Pizza Kickoff Night, now starting at 5:00PM. Sign-up to attend the Pizza Kickoff Night with the form here!
Our first PTA General Meeting is officially rescheduled for next Thursday, September 17th at 7:30AM in the PSE cafeteria (entering through the front entrance). For now, the agenda remains the same. If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at pineshadowspta@gmail.com.

As our PTA continues to grow and become more active, we’re proposing updates to our Bylaws and introducing Standing Rules and Committee Descriptions, to be effective for the 2026-2027 school year. See links below.
Key proposed updates: - More membership meetings: Increase the minimum from 3 to 6 meetings each year to keep members more connected and involved.
- Earlier election: Move the annual election from May to April to give incoming officers more time to transition into their roles before the new school year.
- Two Vice Presidents: Creating two Vice President roles, one dedicated to Membership and another dedicated to Fundraising, giving us more leadership capacity and more voices at the table.
- Clarified board structure: Updating the bylaws to accurately reflect the proposed board composition, and removing reference to standing committee chairs.
- Standing Rules & Committee Descriptions for continuity: Introduce clear guidelines for how our PTA operates, helping provide consistency from year to year and giving future PTA leaders a clear roadmap as they step into their roles. Standing Rules & Committee Descriptions can be updated more frequently to align with our needs.

Active PTA members are invited to attend the next Executive Board Meeting on September 21 at 4:30PM to discuss the proposed documents. Next SBISD Board of Trustees Meeting - Monday 9/14/26 at 6PM
Last board meeting Highlights (8/24/26) The Board honored many groups and departments that received awards. Public comment included several parents expressing concern about the amount of time technology is used in the classroom and encouraging thoughtful guidelines to be developed regarding screen time. Several candidates for public office attended and introduced themselves. SBISD opened the new Guthrie Center, is celebrating its 80th anniversary and discussed that it will be discerning legislative priorities in the upcoming weeks. Enrollment is about 1100 behind projection at this time but there continue to be kids enrolling.
SBISD Budget Advisory Committee Meeting - September 16 at 6PM. Live stream here. The district is facing a $24M budget deficit.
PTA VOTES. Make sure your voter registration is up-to-date. Your application must be RECEIVED BY 10/5/26 to vote in the November elections. --

Temas de la última reunión del Comité de SBISD (24/8/26) Reconocieron a varios grupos y departamentos que ganaron premios recientemente. El comentario público incluyó varias padres pidiendo al distrito desarrollar más estándares de cómo usar aparatos de tecnología en las aulas y por cuánto tiempo. Varios candidatos para oficinas públicas vinieron para presentarse al Comité y a la comunidad. El distrito abrió el nuevo edificio del Centro Guthrie, está celebrando su 80.° aniversario y va a estar discerniendo sus prioridades legislativas en las semanas que vienen. Hay alrededor 1100 menos estudiantes inscritos en este momento en el distrito en comparación a su estimación; estudiantes siguen registrándose.

Senator Cook's office is hosting a Back-to-School Community Teach-In at 1 PM on Saturday, September 19, to discuss changes to statewide education laws affecting our public schools. Advocates from Disability Rights Texas will join to share the ways our most vulnerable students in SPED programs are impacted.
